Coating units

Hard material coatings are ideal to optimize the characteristicsof metal tools and construction parts. With this method, the life cycle of these modified surfaces are considerably increased.

With RUBIG´s® PLASTIT® technology, titanium-based hard material coatings are settled using the PACVD process (Plasma Assisted Chemical Vapor Deposition). Targeted process control induced by defined volumes of gases clearly regulate process parameters, such as temperature of the work piece and pressure, as well as adjustable plasma conditions. These layers are generated in the desired composition and then show the intended characteristics.

Advantages achieved by PLASTIT® hard material coating:

  • Increased durability of tools
  • Decrease of abrasive wear and tear
  • Enhanced anti-corrosion performance
  • Lower gluing propensity
  • Improved demoldingabilit
  • Reduction of anti-adhesion agent
  • Increase of shots

Applications of PLASTIT® hard material coatings:

  • Aluminum and magnesium die-casting (hot working steels)
  • Aluminum extrusion press (hot working steels)
  • Metal forming of steel and aluminum sheets (cold working steels)
  • Cutting tools (HSS steel, hard metal)
  • Tools for plastic extrusion and plastic die-cast (plastic manufacturing steels)
