A new forging hammer was put into place resulting in less shortcomings and higher productivity.

RÜBIG hardening technology was expanding its location at Griesmühlstraße 4, creating the most advanced surface engineering center in Austria. MICRO PULS ® plasma nitriding and hard coating systems completed the range - hardening, nitriding and coating all out of one hand. A new hardening line almost doubled the treatment capacity.

The company celebrated its 60th anniversary and 800 guests congratulated the founding families and employees. The RÜBIG Aluminium GmbH production facility was built at Griesmühlstraße 4 and has become one of the most modern aluminum compensation systems in Austria.

The RÜBIG forge took an additional building into operation, moving the administration, sales and shipping to the new home in the Mitterhoferstraße 11.

Establishment of the Novaky site in Solvakia. The site produces raw components for machinery and coordinates all sales activities in the East.

RÜBIG hardening introduced one of the most advanced heat treatments in Europe. It offered the latest heat treatment technology, having the shortest throughput ever at its site in Marchtrenk. The company extended its standard range and became certified according to VDA 6.1.

RÜBIG forging was relocated to its new location at Mitterhoferstraße 17 in Wels. The tooling remained at Schulstraße and will be expanded.

The worldwide success of MICROPULS ® plasma nitriding technology made it necessary to expand the production facilities in the Durisolstraße.

The RÜBIG group celebrated its 50th anniversary. The plant technolgy in Durisollstaße was expanding, and the forging technology became certified according to ISO 9001.

The latest technologies in the heat treatment gave the rise to technological leadership. The intensive contact to OEM's, Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers in the automotive and vehicle industry made an ISO 9001 certification necessary.

Change of generations - The brothers Helmut and Herbert Rübig retired after almost 50 years in the profession and handed the Franz Rübig & Söhne GmbH & Co KG over to the sons DI Günter Rübig, Dr. Paul Rübig and Wolfgang Rübig. DI Günter Rübig became managing director of the company.

Commissioning of the site in the Durisolstraße, Wels. The special RÜBIG engineering which was found a year ago produced the first Nitration- and Purificationsystems at this site.

The development of MICROPULS ® Plasma nitriding technology, HYDROVAC ® and the metal cleaning plant marked the leadership in this technology. Performance enhancing heat treatment equipment and procedures ensured the growth of the hardening technology division.

With the foundation of the RÜBIG GmbH & Co KG, the idea of a heat treatment plant, including a material laboratory, was born by Helmut Rübig, resulting in the first contract and vacuum heat treatment plant in Upper Austria. Since then, the site heat-treats not only forging tools and products, but also tools and components for the Austrian metal goods industry.

The aquisition of another hydroelectric plant in the Schafwiesenstraße by Helmut Rübig was the fundament of another company, the RÜBIG heat treatment. The business concept "heat treatment on contract" takes shape.

With the establishment of a subsidiary in Freilassing, Germany, RÜBIG began to handle the European market locally. Subsidiaries in France and the UK followed.  The RÜBIG safety linchpin was patented globally at this time.

At Schulstraße 21a, a new smithery arouse, because RÜBIG products gained sales worldwide. The slogan "safety by quality" emphasized the excellence of the linchpins and flat link chains.

The first hydropower plant, the Hofmühle in Wels Lichtenegg was purchased. "A real blacksmith needs own energy!", cost effective electricity made the production more economical.

The second own product, the flat link chain, necessitated the first expansion of the company. In an additional building further forging hammers and a stamping were established. The forged chains are still used worldwide today.

The first own product, the linchpin is the cornerstone for the steady growth.  Bending instead of breaking and safety! Especially in agriculture and construction industries recognized the advantage of the RÜBIG linchpins right away.

The acquisition of a drop board hammer determined the company's history in a sustained manner. The first products were die forgings for the sewing machine industry.

Franz Rübig and his two sons Herbert and Helmut decided to found a metal working business. Starting capital was a bombed house, which was rebuilt to a workshop by hand. The first products were stamping parts used for apparatus engineering and medical engineering.
