Extended vocational trainings are offered on the one hand in cooperation with external organizations (LIMAK, ÖPWZ, WIFI, etc.) and on the other hand internally by experienced employees. Apprentices specifically benefit from a wide variety of additional training measures on top of their subject-specific apprenticeship training. Thus, RUBIG creates the skilled workers of tomorrow. These measures include the basic knowledge of languages and IT topics as well as theoretical principles in the field of metallurgy.
Some RUBIG employees also pass on their know-how to students at the University of Leoben and the University of Applied Sciences in Upper Austria. They cover heat treatment and damage analysis lectures and the associated exercises. In addition, guest lectures at international universities such as Cleveland State University and technical lectures are held. RUBIG is continuously working on various technical books, such as "Heat Treatment of Ferrous Materials; Dieter Liedtke", "Handbook of Hardening Practice; Olaf Irretier & Marco Jost" and our permanent companion, the "RUBIG Handbook".
However, training programs in the field of heat treatment are offered to all interested parties. The courses usually range from one to two days and the content is specifically compiled for the target audience. Once a year, RUBIG provides an intensive workshop covering the following main topics:
Module 1 | Module 2 |
· Basics of steel heat treatment · Annealing of steels · Hardening & quenching · Thermochemical treatments · Assistance in decision making for designers and producers | · Introduction to material science · Testing of hardened components · Heat treatment data specified in drawings · Measurement of residual stress and retained austenite · Corrosion · Introduction to systematic failure analysis |
